Corduroy Zipper Pouch with Metal Zipper
Affiliate Disclosure: michellepatterns.com is an etsy affiliate and may earn a small commission if you purchase through one of these links. This is the first bag I’ve made with a metal zipper! I’m sort of shocked that it took so long for me to get around to picking up some metal zippers. I purchased them here from zipit on etsy.
The fabrics used for this are an olive green cotton corduroy and a floral print from Clothworks. This flowery print is so pretty (and it comes in a few colorways—see them here) and it reminds me of my neighbors front yard which is a mass of coneflowers every summer. There is no grass (so easy!) and it is just a field of flowers. It looks amazing.
This bag has a zip pull—of course! Most zipper bags can benefit from a pull of some sort. It just takes them up a level and gives you something larger to grasp to help open the zipper.
The pull for this bag is made just like the ones in this pattern but it’s probably longer. The ones in the pattern are pretty short (watch your fingers while sewing!). I just kind of wing it with these and after getting an idea of how wide it should be, I free hand cut a semi-straight piece that seems long enough and finish it up.
The finished bag is available here in my etsy shop.
If you like these two fabric together as much as I do, there is a remnant bundle with both right here.
