Grocery Bag Workshop 11/15/25
Sew a machine washable, durable fabric market tote in this 4-hour workshop. These bags are easy to make, fun to use (you’ll get lots of compliments at the store!) and they make great gifts.
They are like the plastic bags stores give out (“t-shirt bags”) but made from washable fabrics and built to last.
You’ll go home with a finished bag & a copy of the Grocery Bag pattern used in class so you can sew more bags on your own.
Date: Saturday, 11/15/25
Time: 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Location: Brigitte’s Place Fine Fabrics, 325 1st Ave W, Albany, OR 97321
Supplies: See below
Please bring (1) yard of fabric for the exterior and (1) yard of fabric for the lining (44” wide fabrics). Washing your fabric before class is recommended. You will have some fabric left over but a yard of each will accommodate any directional prints. Get in touch if you have a different width of fabric or pieces specific sizes and you want to be sure you have enough to make a bag.
Suggested fabrics are quilting cotton, cotton/linen canvas, corduroy, twill, medium weight denim (8-10 ounce), or other machine washable medium weight fabric.
Thread in a few basic colors and interlining fabric for the handles will be provided. Feel free to bring your machine if you’d like. Machines, scissors, marking tools, etc. will also be available for your use.
