Nippon Denim Grocery Bag

I’m always on the look out for nice denim fabric and when I spotted Robert Kaufman’s Nippon Hickory Stripe denim collection I couldn’t wait to get a hold of some and try it out.

When it arrived, I knew exactly what to make first…a Grocery Bag. At 8.5 ounces it is perfect for the Grocery Bags—not too heavy and not too light. I paired it with a bright, modern floral from Benartex and I’m super happy with how it turned out.

There are five solid colors and 12 colors with stripes in this collection of denim fabrics. The bag in the photos is made with the “Prussian” colorway.

And just in case you are wondering about the name, and this is something I didn’t know either, Nippon is another name for Japan.
