Sew a fun and functional Japanese style knot bag with this PDF SEWING PATTERN.

This compact bag closes by threading the handle through a wide closure loop on the opposite side of the bag.

The finished bag opens up nice and wide. The handle and closure loop can be folded down along the side to allow you complete access to the top of the bag.

The exterior pocket is repeated inside the bag and the pockets are large enough for a phone, small journal, pens, etc.

This cute bag makes a nice handbag/wristlet or can be used as a small project tote or even a lunch bag.

Instructions are written for using a bottom weight fabric like twill, denim, cotton duck, canvas, corduroy fabric for the exterior bag body pieces A & E. Home dec fabrics can also be used.

The handles, pockets and lining are quilting cotton. These pieces are interfaced to firm up the thin cotton. The rest of the bag is not interfaced because it gathers up each time the bag closes and the bag will look nice longer if the bag body pieces are somewhat pliable.

This pattern is a paper and ink friendly 10-pages: 6-pages of text and color photos showing the steps to complete the bag + 4-pages of black and white pattern pieces.
