IMPORTANT INFO: This is a PDF SEWING PATTERN you download and print at home.
Practice making patchwork, sewing circles, and selecting and matching fabric prints/colors while sewing these cute and practical fabric coasters.
They also don't need to be bound! How great is that??? While I love quilt binding, it is a pain to bind smaller items and even more of a pain to bind round things. So we'll just skip it to make these cute coasters.
The finished coasters can be used for a variety of purposes around the house--drink coasters, under house plants, in the kitchen under oils that tend to leak all over your cupboards, anything with the aluminum ring around the bottom that leaves a mark, etc.
Toss them in with your towels and machine wash/dry them as needed.
The pattern demonstrates how to foundation piece a classic Log Cabin configuration with free hand cut fabric pieces. Cutting the pieces free hand makes it go faster and is great way to improve your cutting skills.
Templates for 8 sizes of circles are included so you can make a variety of sizes of coasters.
Circles start at 4" and go up to 7.25" in diameter. The templates are also good to have on hand for other projects--no more searching for a small/medium circular object to trace!
This document is a printer and ink friendly 11-pages - 5-pages text with color photos + 6-pages of black & white circle templates.
