Bust a move on your overflowing scrap bin while learning to make patchwork with this PDF sewing pattern for fabric coasters.
The finished coasters are cute, useful, and a fun way to put your favorite fabrics to work where you can see and enjoy them.
These are easy to make and if you haven't made patchwork before, these are a great project to get started. Coasters are how I started out with patchwork and I still use this same basic idea in almost all of my patchwork.
The pattern demonstrates how to foundation piece a classic Log Cabin configuration with free hand cut fabric pieces. Cutting the pieces free hand makes it go faster and is great way to improve your cutting skills. It's also pretty liberating to not have to be so perfect with your cutting for once!
Perhaps best of all, these coasters don't need the edges bound. It is not easy to bind smaller items and it's going to save you a lot of time and hand sewing since it's not necessary for these cute coasters.
Templates for 8-sizes of circles are included so you can make a variety of sizes of coasters.
Circles start at 4" and go up to 7.25" in diameter.
This document is a printer and ink friendly 11-pages: 5-pages text with color photos + 6-pages of black & white circle templates.
